It's a comic book character in the Batman universe. The movie is literally called Joker and it takes place in Gotham. The director already ripped off Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy, he doesn't need to be teaching moral lessons to some losers on social media. It's not that serious, let the fans have fun and enjoy the ride.
Taking a serious grounded approach is what made the first film unique, imo.
:yeshrug:

This film aligns with what the first film actually was

Joker was just an act to hide behind and bring attention to himself.
when he was cross examining Puddles you saw he trying to keep up the act but breaking character. The illusions was further broken when he was listening to the younger guy in prison who was a joker follower being killed
Right don't you see how that can be disappointing. Particularly how Joker 1 ended?

I think it comes down to expectation. I couldn't see Arthur getting out and doing more than what he did in this first movie. He was a symbol for people to act looney than him being an actual agent of chaos. Like people hiding behind a Guy Fawkes mask and wrecking shyt.
That's my interpretation, at least. We all draw our own from what we watch

Reminds me of when the new Star Wars creators wanted to Subvert expectations :skip:

Not to suck. To have a decent story. To not be annoying and a waste of time.

(I'm not a huge fan of the 1st movie. Liked it on 1st viewing but it's a boring watch).
Come on, bruh. You can give a better answer than that.
Did you want more action? Big heist planning? More comic book like story?
