Although I've enjoyed all the John Wick sequels, none of them can touch the original to me. And until now I couldn't figure out why I liked the 1st one so much better than the sequels until I saw this vid.

Hearing both of em made me realize why I liked the 1st one so much more. The fact that everyone was shook of Wick, and how the assassin scene seem much more like an underground thing, verses in the sequel, it seems like the assassin culture is in the entire world and not an underground section of it.

I was just explaining this to a friend last night who has never seen any of the movies.
I hate to say it but I didn't like the third one.
The first one was amazing to me because of the pacing of it all, and how they fleshed out the story of John Wick.
The first one unveils Baba Yaga slowly. We see glimpses of how deadly he is, but the way they linger on people describing their own story of Baba Yaga followed by scenes of him putting in that work really made the first movie incredible to me.
The second I liked because I was excited to see John Wick again, and the story was still interesting.
This third movie did nothing to push the story further and really felt like one long action sequence with no real substance.
I actually found myself yawning through several of the fight sequences and realized this movie is a case of where too much of a good thing is bad.
This third one to me, turned the series into fast and the furious in terms of how unrealistic things have gotten and how the story is a complete non-factor now.

Still haven't seen it yet. Can someone tag me and just lemme know A: if it's as good at 1 and 2, B: is the continued world building dope or too over-the-top, and C: if they close it out or if it leaves open the possibilities for more sequels?

On the other hand I feel like this is the type of movie where spoilers don't matter that much? :manny: I assume John Wick kills a bunch of people including the antagonist, and that he doesn't die at the end. I love these movies but everything else is sort of secondary.

Yo:dwillhuh:
How Marc and his crew woulduse shadows to hide throughout the movie before killing people was:ohhh:

They'd be in the shaodows in jailhouses poses and then just spin out and hit people with meathooks:mjlol:

How they get in that ballerina theater with all them dudes walking around with guns with nobody seeing them AND getting close enough to murk them with knives :mjlol:

They was on the stage with the ballerina's STILL dancing:russ:...

A: it’s not as good as the first 2
B: they took everything way too far over the top
C: there will absolutely be sequels

It wasn't the best one but I like it as a setup for what's to come in 4 :blessed:

Once they all drop it's literally a marathon, one after the other. That's what I like most about these movies. In universe it's truly been non stop for John

I really like the showing of all the different players. and the same way they set Wick up as Baba Yaga, it seems like the High Table don't give a fukk

Writing lowkey wasn't as good, action got a little boring. Didn't mind seeing Halle get it in, my guy Desmond Mobay put in that work, Bronn Bronn was in it, and I really liked the Japanese dude. You can only up the tension so much before the strength levels become outlandish, sometimes you gotta throw in the comedy)
