I think Biyombo would be the perfect fit in DC. They also need to find a way to get a winning vet like Pierce back. I would try and sign Joe Johnson for 10 to 12 million. Someone that can score clutch baskets. Washington struggled at the end of close games last year often. Not as much as Atlanta but far more than the year before with Pierce.

Biyombo would be a good fit. We need a young big man worth a damn. I advocated for signing him last summer.

him being the same player since he was a rookie is unbelievable

John isn't the same player he was since he was a rookie.

He's gotten better. He's proven he can be an All-NBA defender, he's gotten better offensively, he can run a team and him healthy will get you a .500 team.

He's very good. He's not great as in borderline MVP great... he can reach it, he's still young enough and maybe getting his knees right can help him.

But his growth was stunted with Wittman's terrible offense. Brooks unfortunately might be only marginally better but to Brooks' credit, he does play young players and he does develop them better than anything that was in DC before. Brooks also seems to be a believer in analytics and way more open minded than Wittman.

But as long as Ernie is running the show, you won't see a perennial playoff contender in DC.

He isn't though. Look at the list of players who've averaged 20 and 10 (asst) in a season. It isn't a long one. Until Westbrook and Wall did it this season it hadn't been done since Deron Williams in 2010. Before that Chris Paul did it in back to back seasons between 07-09. Before that you had to go back to the late 90's and TIm Hardaway. Overall only 11 players have ever done it. Technically idk if Wall counts because his avg was 19.9 points but that'd be splitting hairs.

Wittman got 4 years. It's unbelievable.

Grunfeld has gotten 13 years.

Leonsis has to be the worst owner. He and Joe Lacob became majority owners at the same time. Same type of franchises who weren't relevant for 30 years.

Warriors have drafted much better and many times right after the Wizards were taking busts like Jan Vesley.

It makes me angry every day. I'm not even an angry person :pachaha: Grunfeld has fukked this team so bad its almost embarrassing that he's not recognized outside the DMV as a terrible GM. People just don't get it.

I spent my whole life in the area (in philly for school now), and i don't really understand why the city doesn't support its basketball. it's pretty pathetic. Redskins my squad too but damn the whole world shuts down on Sundays even when we a 4-12 team

I'm pretty much hoping we chase Batum. Gives two playmakers on offense and a solid do it all guy at our weakest position. I consider him an elite defender, not sure what the stats say on that though

I like Batum. Charlotte got the inside track there but Golden State may jump in,,,

But I don't think they're giving up on Otto and they need Oubre to play too.

DC just isn't a basketball city. They had empty seats at playoff games last year

Put that squad in New York or Philadelphia and the fans in these cities would support the shyt out of them
its a basketball city. You dont produce as many great NBA players as this area has if its not a basketball city.

The problem is the wizards have been a terribly ran franchise for 33 years. Its one of the worst in sports, and it has not gotten better. The fanbase has been beaten down.

I live in the area, trust me when I tell you.. Bryce Harper is never leaving DC because we won't let him go. Nationals are routinely favorites to win it all, better than the Yankees. Yankees not even better than the Mets :dame:
Bryce Harper's ultimate goal is to be a transcendent household name who revives Baseball's cultural relevance in this country

There's only a handful of MLB markets he can do that in and DC isn't one of them

But I don't think they're giving up on Otto and they need Oubre to play too.

I don't mind either of those guys, but our player development is :mjcry:. I'm saying if there's an upgrade to make us good now with a youngish 'star', I'd prefer that over Otto or Oubre. I do understand the need to play Oubre though. His limited minutes can be productive though he picks up fouls quick (that should go away). Also with our player development being shyt, it's hard to project when and how much guys should be playing.

I think we're stuck in a meh place. There are only limited ways for us to improve and a solid wing player and some bench depth is probably the move. I hate being such a middling team because we'll probably finish between 35-45 wins. Few FAs can come in and get us to that 50-55 mark. If we can't have a top 10 player on our roster, then I want as rock solid a core of 7-8 guys as possible. With Grunfeld, we'll probably overpay for some trash and be middling again

Who are we looking at so far this summer? I havent been on the news that heavy

He can do as he pleases. Our fans were embarrassing begging like some scorned ex-lovers for KD to come back home. I don't even really like KD, but he was probably the only piece that could turn us into contenders overnight.

Now we're stuck with Scott Brooks at the helm while not even getting a sit down at the table to break bread with KD (which I'm sure Scotty played up his ability to do so). I can only help but laugh cause this is the shyt perpetually our GM gets us into, but inside :mjcry: :mjcry: :mjcry:

Much better would've been offering a coach like Vogel or Thibs or something GM + Coach, but owner stay on some dumb shyt
