Injuries were obviously a factor...but both Gil and Wall lacked the maturity and character to be centerpiece, franchise players.

The Wizards just got plain unlucky trying to build around two players who negatively impact all the intangibles that come with having a winning culture.

John has never passed the eye test with me. Didn't like his aura when we drafted him. He's exceeded expectations imo because I didn't expect for him to improve each season like he has.

Nobody expects him to return and be BETTER...but John has proven everyone wrong before and it "should" happen again. He's talented enough to pull it off but it's not something any of us EXPECTS.
