John Singleton has died at age 51

I knew it wasn’t looking good but I still had hope he’d pull through. If you grew up in the hood in the late 80’s early 90’s he shaped a big part of childhood. Gave a voice to the voiceless at a time when it was sorely needed. RIP to another legend gone too soon.

Truly a visionary director and artist, I love Boyz N The Hood, Poetic Justice, and Shaft, I felt the his work post 1999 was very underwhelming, (to be generous) despite Baby Boy being something of a cult classic/cult favorite of mine.
