If a person test positive for coronavirus and ultimately dies it gets counted, as it should. That person was alive and well with their underlying conditions before covid 19 came and accelerated their death. The cause of death is Covid 19, not sure why some of you want to do mental gymnastics when it comes to this.

What would be the cause of death in this scenario?
It was something close to that. About how someone with coronavirus who does is getting that listed as cause of death no matter what.
And then that story in the NY Times about how they randomly added almost 4,000 deaths in one day.

Nicca I am an essential worker in nyc who is going out into the city and doing my job by taking the mta as I don’t drive in trains that are now hotels for homeless people . Several of my coworkers have tested positive but I keep doing my job because I work with a vulnerable population. I am not trying to score any points or I would of brought these points up weeks ago . So you’re saying people who are catching covid are dying of pneumonia? They’re dying of all kinds of things, no one drops dead from corona they die from a compromised immune system. Just like they always do

The comment you initially responded to was a reference to how one of the hardest hit regions, due to a Trump like response by media darling Andrew Cuomo and his best Frienemy Mayor DiBlasio, constantly talks about how horrible these southern states are, or will be, while they are the epicenter of 100 year pandemic event RIGHT NOW!
Yes, the southern states are poised to fukk it all up but hey, at least wait until it happens or have your own city get under 300 deaths per day first. It's all I ask. How can people sitting atop a pile of bodies look their nose down at anyone else? That eastern seaboard region accounts for almost 1/3rd of the total US deaths. We're doing fine down here........for now.
