Yeah. Football wasn't popping like that in 1998.It's wild no matter how you look at it that he didn't take the deal especially knowing now how much money he could've made BUT football wasn't poppin nearly like it is now so it's not like he just outright rejected 100s is millions of dollars.
You mocking me?Yeah. Football wasn't popping like that in 1998.
Maybe the Broncos would have folded as a franchise.
It's too unpredictable.

A black NFL player would never get this deal
How come Jerry Rice ain't owner of the 49ers?Im sayin tho....it aint even about that football franchises werent as valuable. Its the fact that this dude basically got offered a once in a lifetime deal by the owner who obviously viewed him as the son he never had or whatever....then still had the nerve to turn it down. That priveledge![]()
Rovell: How John Elway missed out on a fortune

LmaoReminds me of the christmas lunch at my job that i didnt show up for. Because of that, I missed out on 2 hrs overtime. I'm still kicking myself about that shyt. I know exactly how Elway must feel
so instead of being worth a few hundred million bucks, I guess he'll have to settle for being worth a mere $150M. I'm sure he's having plenty of sleepless nights![]()
Ehh.... the valuation of teams back then was a lot less, we're talking two TV contracts ago. I would have brought in simply because there were only 30 teams at the time and the opportunity to own one is rare.
It's like me clowning someone for not buying Apple stock in 2001, who knew?
