John Cena Signs Onto "Argylle" Film Franchise With All-Star Cast

Filming begins in Europe next month, which if Cena is involved in early shooting, could cause problems for him appearing at SummerSlam. It’s not yet clear when Cena would need to be on set for filming, however.

He's never coming back.

I can't see how the insurance company will allow him to wrestle if any potential injury could cost them millions in production delays.

I don't think it's up to them to decide what he can and cannot do while not filming. I bet a contract doesn't start until the day of filming so if anyone wants to go bungee jumping or mountain climbing a week before filming an action spy movie then they can do whatever they want lol

And didn't the rock film gi joe while completing at survivor series in 2011? :jbhmm:

I would assume the contract would have to be before the start of filming as any potential injury could throw off filming and thus cost the moving production and insurance bread. If gets injured and has to drop out or miss time, then that'd put the production company in a bind as they'd either have to take the time to replace him or delay production until he's better. Add in other actor/actresses schedules, then that would potential create an issue for everyone.

I'm guessing it's something that Cena would need to work out with the insurance company prior to doing the match to cover his and everyones asses in case of injury. I would also assume that WWE would do their part in reducing as much injury risk as possible and not putting Cena in a bind for doing them the favor.

John Cena is reportedly scheduled to return to WWE TV this month following the Money In the Bank pay-per-view.

As we’ve noted, Cena has been expected to wrestle at WWE SummerSlam on Saturday, August 21 in Las Vegas, challenging WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

While it’s been reported by multiple sources that Cena is still a go for SummerSlam, there’s been no word on when he will actually return to TV to set that match up. Until now. In an update, Fightful Select reports that the working plan is for Cena to return on the July 23 SmackDown episode.

The July 23 SmackDown is scheduled to take place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. This will be the post-Money In the Bank episode.

It was noted that Cena could return sooner than that, but as of today, the plan is for Cena to make his long-awaited WWE return on the July 23 SmackDown on FOX episode.

Sunday’s Money In the Bank pay-per-view will feature Reigns defending against WWE Hall of Famer Edge. There’s no word yet on how they will get to Cena vs. Reigns, but Edge vs. Seth Rollins is also expected for SummerSlam.

Focusing on his acting career, Cena has been away from WWE TV since losing the Firefly Fun House Match to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.

Stay tuned for more on Cena’s WWE return.
