Yes it does, vultures exploit the culture for profit. Joey helped write this nikka song and made profit off his number 1 hit.

He indirectly vultured the vulture :manny: Chess. Real hiphop still won in the end.

i dont even give a shyt about any of this vulture shyt, but your logic is piss poor.
lmfao, real hiphop won? no, only joey won. The culture lost. Post malone got another hit and he is even bigger than before. Thanks for helping the caac win joey! its ok for a MC to help cacs with their writing, even though the coli fears that white men will take over rap...have the black man write and the white man as the face :comeon:
and no one would even know about joey's contribution if he didn't speak up :mjlol:

Ghostwrote isn't the proper term. He wrote a track and his management sold it to Post. Happens all the time when a smaller artist has a record that won't work if they put it out, but would work if a bigger artist released it. Same way SZA "gave" Rihanna Consideration.

This was probably some shyt they weren't gonna release because it was wack. But clearly you can tell if anyone truly co-wrote this it was T Pain, who did the melody. Post came up with his own lyrics for the verses.

Its looking funny in the light.

Post Malone is a cac that made his name making minecraft videos and now he's talking about rastas, smoking gas, and shottas going rat-a-tat-tat-taa.

I think a certain emcee with a Caribbean background might've had a hand in that.

Just me speculating though

Kid had a different cadence with each verse and every single one of them was in pocket.

:wow:

I was driving home from the bar 4(?) Years ago when I heard this for the first time and I remembered being shocked when they said he was only 17

:picard:
Facts man, Joey was like a rap prodigy and shyt with that 1999 project as a whole. It was a dope time for hiphop imo.

First I wasn't even being all the way serious but let's argue this.

If he let the white man be the face who cares, he is a real hiphop artist so if he gets the check from that it would allow him more room to continue to create real hiphop more comfortably since people don't support real hiphop he has to get income some how. Look at how it usually happens, the culture vulture comes in and exploits hiphop but Joey exploited the vulture by way of creating an opportunity for himself to eat by writing for him. So even though it looks like Post is winning Post will be here as a fad but Joey will still be here and was able to eat off posts hit song. That to me is genius and in a way is Joey vulturing the vulture inadvertently:russ:. To make a metaphor of it, it's almost like me betting on both sides of the game, I could drop an album and put in work for the real hiphop side but then I could turn around and write for the fake cultue vulture side. Either way real hiphop still wins cause an artist from the real side of the game was able to eat.

Also people didn't need to know about his contribution if you ask me because the check cleared. However it's good that it was put out there which is only icing on the cake because now he is getting recognized for it.

What kind of question is this? He wrote it before revealing he penned the song.
Lol exactly but to be clear about it Joey wasn't even the one who spilled the beans. T-Pain was the one who spoke on it first lol.

That don't sound like the case at all. He said he co-wrote it with post so I'm thinking they were in the studio together.

Californ-i-a by way of BK
Well simple, If T-Pain never mentioned him and joey being on the original you would never know Joey had a hand in writing the song. He would have been a ghostwriter but he is not a ghost anymore cause the cat was let out the bag.
Ahh okay that's fair. I thought he let it out.

Yeah it’s nothing mind blowing.

Just a cool little song I’m sure sounds great when you’re feeling nice at a function.

I fukks with it
I fux with more than a few songs that I know are trash. I loved Deion Sanders must be the money just got giggles but it was garbage.
