I watched Forever last night and im watching batman and robin now. The latter is a lot more coherent, cohesive, and works better as a story and what movies are supposed to do. Batman Forever has scenes that are there for no reason, doesn't obey its own internal logic, and really feels like Joel trying to bridge the gap between him and Burton and not doing it that well. Batman and Robin, while not something I can say I fukk with entirely, at least flows and feels of a piece. its the tv show as a movie

And I think a lot of that is because Burton was supposed to do Forever.

This may sound strange but do you know one thing I loved about Batman Forever? The opening title sequence.



Even later when I got the VHS I used to watch that over and over again. Don't know why but it blew my 9 year old mind.

I remember renting 8MM in 2001 or so, and watching it late at night, all alone, it was a pretty grim experience. I felt like I needed a shower afterwards.
