I said in the other thread, Batman Forever would’ve been much better if they kept in some of the darker scenes. This scene in particular resolved the whole plot thread of Bruce’s guilt and the red diary

Regardless of the hate it gets, Batman Forever was the first Batman movie I saw in theaters. Used to constantly watch the VHS as a youngin and I loved the soundtrack

A Time to Kill is a classic as well.

RIP

I never hated on him as a director. He has solid movies out there. I was just always perplexed how the man who did The Lost Boys, Falling Down and A Time to Kill also did campy ass Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Looking back it was mainly because the studio wanted a campy movie, and he wanted to do a Year One with Keaton.

I watched Forever last night and im watching batman and robin now. The latter is a lot more coherent, cohesive, and works better as a story and what movies are supposed to do. Batman Forever has scenes that are there for no reason, doesn't obey its own internal logic, and really feels like Joel trying to bridge the gap between him and Burton and not doing it that well. Batman and Robin, while not something I can say I fukk with entirely, at least flows and feels of a piece. its the tv show as a movie
