During the first Trump term, Europe took note of Trump's isolationist pro Russia leanings threatening to pull them out of Nato, Paris Climate Accord among others..they realized America could no longer be relied upon or trusted, so they immediately took action quietly to prepare for life without America's assistance. Didnt matter that Biden came in after Trump, they had seen America was no longer an indisputable parter.

The EU quietly signed their largest ever trade agreement, and it was with Japan and not the US. they are not desperate for American funding like the non Industrialized world and have better relations with foreign lands than America does.

Militarily America was vital for Europe, but they have everything America has now and have had for decades..several EU nations also have nukes and advanced weaponry. the EU on its own would defeat Russia quicker than America could on its own.
Strategically, American is overrated.

Europe doesnt handle international relations like those begging governments in Africa do.

Europe can definitely ramp up military production quickly if they felt America was shaky. They don't lack any of the finance, tech or expertise if shyt was to get dicey. Hasn't it always been a mutually beneficial relationship between US and Europe? US provides protection and Europe provides legitimacy to American fukkery on world stage. Yeah, it's fun to say fukk Ukraine and all that rhetoric, but is it really wise to alienate your allies. Or maybe America only needs Israel.
