His game management skills leave a lot to be desired but at the same time it's not on him that his 2 stars can look great one game to a prime Bernard Robinson and Othella Harrington the next.
I think his lack of game management is completely overblown. He looks no different to the majority of coaches in their first year.

Cats keep forgetting the Celtics were ranked 26th in the clutch last season under Udoka.

They didn't adjust for shyt down the stretch of games and suffered from the same problems we're seeing now. I remember everyone complaining about the state of their play last postseason in every game-thread. Apart from that Nets series (which was more KD shytting the bed), they struggled in every series to gain control. They never looked comfortable nor dominant at any point. They had no business losing to that Warriors squad.

I agree that Udoka is being looked at with rose tinted glasses and forget about that he was being ripped for his defensive strategies against the Warriors for instance. At the end of the day, getting blown out by 30 speaks with your two stars looking like bums speaks more to them moreso the coaching. This is this core's 3rd coach, all with different strengths and weaknesses, all with the same result

Cats wanna blame Mazzulla, but this is the reason why the Celtics are losing -

Same damn energy that Jaylen is coming with too.

They came into this series thinking they could kick their feet up, resting on their laurels thinking the Heat were just going to roll over.

Let’s say Loston never fires Udoka, Mazzula prolly being named the HC for the Suns or the Bucks and nobody thinks anything of it

Would he really have made a difference when we saw how bad they shat the bed in the Finals last season?

Nothing would have changed.

Whatever stage/team they stumbled against would've happened under any coach. The coaching is a red herring. We'd still be having these same conversations if Udoka was coach because it's happened time and time again with this group, regardless of who the coach was. I honestly thought after the 76ers series they had figured something out, and realized their true potential, but more fool me, they fell back into the same old bad habits.
Word I feel you. It’s almost like I said similar in the rest of my post or something haha.

Udoka actually knew how to beat Miami's 2-3 zone last year, and he aint even have Brogdon (their 3rd best offensive player this season). Miami shut off Boston water in 4th quarter of game 1 and 2 goin to it.
So they just forgot how to beat a zone this season after they beat it last season?

:usure:

You're being patently ridiculous and it's the reason for why coaching is simultaneously so underrated/overrated on this board. It ain't got shyt to do with them not knowing how to, and more about them not executing when they need to. These players have been in these situations before where everything is essentially second-nature to them. They've been on multiple playoff runs, seen varied defensive schemes, been in countless late-game situations and played against nearly every single type of style of play. None of this is new to them.

They've played the Heat three times in the last four postseasons, so you can get the fukk outta here acting like the players don't know what to do.

They know what to do. But physically carrying it out is another thing, altogether.
As I told you, it's not about the Celtics not knowing how to beat the zone. You don't just suddenly forget how to.

They literally just tore it apart here in Game 4.

This is on the players not executing when they need to. It's the reason why they found themselves in a 0-3 hole. They fukked around in the first two games and cost themselves at least a tied series, similar to what we saw in the last round against Philly when they went down 2-3 before waking up.

We've seen this squad not consistently show up for years now. This is their identity.

I doubt it, Ime had proved nothing as a head coach. Hell Mazolla in his first year did a similar job and improved in some areas.

Tatum and Brown simply aren't enough to win a title. They can either look to add a big man or try to trade brown or Tatum forjltiple assets.
Stick to talking about porn hoes in JBO. You don't know what the hell you're talking about in regards to basketball.

He's not entirely wrong.

The Celtics would've won last season if the difference between them winning/losing was the coaching. Y'all put far too much emphasis on shyt that is a red herring. The same bad habits we saw from them last season are the same bad habits we see now. Same as for all the other seasons this group has been together.

This is who they are.

If they ever figure it out, it'll be because they do it on their own, and not because of coaching. They're well past that point now.
