This shyt is some weak as drivel. Shula was a.legendary 2 time SB wnning coach who already had 5 SB trips prior to Dan being drafted..he apparently did nothing for Marino. But Belichick is who.was an utter failure as HC and who is a defensive guy, made Brady?? Hahaha!! We can take every ring away from Brady. He won way more MVPs, way more 2nd place finishes, better catalog of throws, voted 4 times as the No. 1 player by his peers. Five time leader in td passes and 4 time in passing yards. 15 time Pro Bowler. Take the rings away, how is Brady still not an elite QB, historically?? Most pts in a three year span, captained by Brady.
Dan Marino’s coaches won multiple rings without him but they were the problem :mjlol:

Shula literally went undefeated :mjlol:

He was part of the problem with his horrendous performances in big playoff games
The biggest problem was that they came into those games being a one dimensional team.

One dimensional teams lose in the playoffs in all sports.

The game passed Shula by the mid 80s. Jimmy Johnson was not going to Herschel Walker trade replicate what he experienced in Dallas.

Anyone crucifying Dan Marino as if he held those two coaches back from winning it all would be stupid :russ:
Shula was literally in the Super Bowl the year before Marino got drafted but they game passed him by :mjlol:

One year of unparalleled dominance doesnt make him the GOAT, though. Marino fans act like 84 was what his did his entire career. If hes the GOAT, why did he peak so early? One MVP in his 2nd year. He had one 30 td season in the last 12 years of his career, if Im not mistaken.
I never seen one athlete tied to one season like this. He averaged 36 touchdowns his first 4 years then 21 the rest of his career. Did the league figure him out?

The league figured out the dolphins were a one dimensional team.

And you still see the 85 Bears talked about.

Speaking of Montana it’s funny cause the dolphins were a much better organization pre Marino then the 49ers were pre Joe. The dolphins were literally in the Super Bowl the year before Marino got drafted while the 49ers were a dumpster fire.

Other than Steve young who inherited a 14 win team or Rodgers who inherited a 13 win team the year before they became starters I’m trying to figure out which all time great starts on a better squad

That’s a lie. They won the Super Bowl in 1981 before Joe Montana was on the team.

Montana joined a great organization on the rise. What’s funny is that the team they played in the Super Bowl in 1981 was coached by Bill Walsh the years prior as their OC.
Ken Anderson is the first qb to benefit off the west coast offense

You are all parts of wrong

And those type of QBs are becoming obsolete in this era. Brady’s the last of that type of QB who will have a long NFL career. And defenses are much more complex than in that era granted the rules are much softer.

Like Brett Favre won 3 straight MVPs and he was there on the Manningcast and it was abundantly clear that Peyton and Eli were miles ahead of him processing a defense. I’m not saying Dan wasn’t brilliant - I believe all timers are all timers almost whenever - but I do think modern players aren’t given enough credit sometimes.
Football fans will accept defenses are more complex in the 1980’s compared to the 1950’s but when you tell them they are more complex now compared to the 80’s they get mad :mjlol:

Real recognize real.

Most QBs and defenses in his era will tell you Marino is among the GOATs if not THE GOAT. He never won the SB and we know how that goes despite it being a team game but it is what it is.

Marino, Barry Sanders and Deion Sanders are the players that got me to start watching american football to be honest with you. Growing up in Haiti never understood the sport when i came here. Until i saw a few game when Marino lit up a few defenses and then a game when Barry Sanders made grown men look like the 3 stooges.
shyt had me like "them americans may be onto something with this weird ass sport of theirs":ohhh:
