Joe Frazier was a Philly great. There is Awesome story to his life. He came from the Geechee- Gullah people Down in South Carolina and moved to New York as a teen and got in the car theft. After he got caught stealing cars he moved to Philadelphia took a box.

He and his one-armed dad also ran moonshine back in SC.

I think Frazier just got into boxing because he was fat and wanted to get in shape but he was so talented that he ended up winning Gold in 1964 not too long after that, and achieved all that despite having lousy vision in one eye.
