You can tell folks who have no fukking clue how the music business works trying to talk sales...
As soon as I saw "$7 a unit", I couldn't read anymore. Folks still going off what Jim Jones and them said years ago huh?
All I'll say is this Joe Budden fans... spin this all you want, but 25-30k is NOT a good look. Chief Keef & MGK flopped on majors, Joe is subpar on an indie. Most indie labels are just smaller major labels... so with the features included, this dude did Curren$y numbers.
Curren$y didn't get a pass for those subpar numbers. Why should Joe Budden?
Y'all gotta be able to admit when your favorite rappers aren't all that commercial wise.
I bet some of u were saying big boi doing 15k was good lmao
Truth is...all these fagfots flopped
Threads like these are exactly why this fascination with numbers among regular nikkas with no knowledge of the industry, these deals and how these brothers are living needs to stop. LOL @ these being bad numbers for a guy in Joe's position given his situation.
You serious?
Why you think the indie scene is as weak as it is now? These indies don't make labels to sell 50k total especially for an artist that is known to the extent that Joe Budden is. Y'all know why record sales matter? Because if these dudes can't sell, these labels have no use for them. Only cats like Flo-Rida and Pitbull don't have to worry about album sales because the singles/tours make more money than any album of his ever will.
There are indie rappers selling what Budden will do first week or better and yet it's okay for Budden because "we don't know that man's situation. He's good." That's ironic because the reason most of these rappers end up selling out is because the album/tour sales aren't what they should be. So... hence what we have now in rap.
