I get what you're saying but that comparison is stupid.
Canibus was amazing on guest verses, but flopped with his 10+ albums, except Rip The Jacker - especially "Poet Laureate II." (And by flopped, I don't mean commercially, I mean I think they sucked.)
Meanwhile, Joe Budden was never a hot guest verse artist, but had a hot single when he debuted, then dope albums, and amazing mixtapes, with the Mood Muzik series.
I mean Canibus completely embarrassed himself with the Eminem shyt...making sequel songs to Eminem songs...shyt is the definition of cringeworthy.
So Canibus and Joe Budden - not the same type of artist.
Comparing Eminem to Drake is just incredibly idiotic, in your example, seeing as there has never been any dispute that Eminem writes his own shyt.
I guess your point is that Em and Drake are both "pop stars", which again, is stupid as fukk, seeing as you could argue any rapper who's gone platinum or made the Billboard POP 100 is a "pop star." Unless "pop star" is some subjective thing you just apply to anyone you don't personally like. Pretty much rapper in everyone's top 10 is a "pop star."
Also, Eminem did acknowledge Canibus, by subs, by name, and by a whole diss song. Even though Canibus was dissing him for incredibly stupid reasons, with no logical motive, and Em was totally above his level at the time.
Oh, I guess one parallel is Em was a fan of Canibus in the early days and Canibus later dissed him for no reason. I guess that's what you meant? Ok.
