Bad Bunny is bigger than Taylor Swift, where? If you completely dominate the Latin American market, then that’ll make the numbers look different
He was the number one artist on Spotify 3 years in a row. 2023 would have been 4 years in a row, but he came in second to Taylor.

the point he’s making that everyone is missing is there was an influx of female rappers the last 3-5 years a new one was popping up everytime you turned around. that shyt is dead. its not worth the investment. because no one gives a fukk about them honestly.

be on twitter and always see shorties saying “the girlies are running rap 🤪" and didnt stream their music. :mjlol:
Yea that’s why I said he’s right these girls are just glorified influencers nobody really cares about their music. Joe himself always hypes the girls up but we know he not playing that shyt, that sexxy red slob session he had was so fake and phony lol

He's not lying. Most of them are doing terrible commercially.
Commercial success isn’t solely defined by album sales these days. It’s damn near the least relevant metric
The problem is that you can't tour off singles, and the labels aren't really benefiting. They're making more money off these chicks sampling catalog songs than the actual rap songs. That’s not good lol, long term.
They’re touring well for the level and type fans they have.

Most female rap fans are young black women. That leads to doing club walkthroughs and college campuses and very small city venues
There is no wave right now if I think about it

Yea people still doin numbers..but drill kinda lost steam, p*ssy rap kinda lost steam (they are still big )

Actually curious what the next sound is
There’s no wave because streaming has siloed all listeners

What’s the point or copying Rod Waves sound when a lot of rap fans can’t even name a Rod Wave song even though he’s one of the hottest rappers out

Idk breh but the mumble era killed it. As you mentioned there are no new superstars. We need new blood. Drake has been around forever now

Travis Scott was the only rap album in the worldwide top 10. And if I change that to USA Travis was number 7 and Metro boomin album was number 10. It just got stale like superhero movies. Perhaps people are ready for something new.

And yes Latin music has exploded while rap has been declining. You have artists in that genre setting tour records. Bad Bunny is just as big as Taylor Swift if not bigger.

Yep.

The females took over rap, when rap is on the decline popularity wise. The sun is setting on the rap industry, but people are stagnated with their tastes.

I think it's clear labels are ruining the market for rap on purpose by investing in streaming services that set the value on music so low. They just passing around money at the top while artist argue over dumb shyt like streams

No one aside from the usual suspects are selling records nowadays. Record sales as a whole is a terrible barometer for what’s popular. Like Joe, most of us are out of touch and should sit this one out

Barely any of them were real talents. City girls was a fake group of non rappers etc. A lot of the rest got writers on deck. They just a face and a hustle. When everyone try to run the same game the shyt gets ran down. The thot bop chronicles got stale. The amateur music has little lasting power. The content is cringe. That's why it's over. They defeated themselves by being so damn wack.

When it's all said and done hip hop might have declined as a genre in the 50th year of it's recorded History with women at the helm. That's a shyt legacy. They finally dominate the game and put have no classics to speak of n are leaving the genre worse than when they took over. So much for patriarchy and misogyny being the problem. Females killed rap as an artform. Let that sink in
