Flesh of My Flesh was definitely Swizz's peak
It's crazy cause I put that and X over It's Dark but I acknowledge It's Dark as being more true to who DMX is and that's as someone from Cali who learned of DMX in the Mixtape Circuit(And Mase and The LOX collabs) in '97,RR cutting Dame Grease is some Filthy Work,I bet that's what That RR Vol 1 Skit was bout:francis:

:hubie:DMX made a lot of Swizz beats sound better than they actually are!

If there is one producer who benefited from the artist he worked with it’s him. He is not 5. Idk if he’s 20.
The same with the Lox and Eve.

His beats were always covered up by them. Wyl out is a trash beat. Gotta Man is a trash beat. They stay covering his wackness.

:scusthov:

I could never get into him at any point.

This is a fact!

He’s the biggest Nepo baby in hip hop and it makes sense why he literally forced his beats on people because they weren’t all that. Nore and Alicia said it on drink champs lol

ALL producers benefit from the artists they work with. Would we even discuss Premier as an elite producer had his production on Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt, Ready To Die, and Life After Death had been on a Group Home project? Where would Kanye West and Just be had their work on Blueprint had went to Fabolous?

All the producers you named beats can stand on their own. Swiss not at all

Ambulance sirens
Construction workers jackhammering concrete
Nails on a chalkboard

Yeah I'm exaggerating but Swizz is a hack who got on through nepotism and somehow convinced people he's dope. I'll never understand it. He just throws some stock keyboard sounds over his go to drum patterns and that's it. It's more noise than music.

Perfect example:

How is Cassidy nodding his head to that trash? It's like no one ever wants to tell him to his face that a beat is wack.

His style is like those kids who play fighting games and don't know any moves or combos but win by button mashing.

Yeah, he he has a few good beats but most aged like shyt and the majority of his catalog is terrible.

It's a disgrace to compare him to any of the greats. He has zero skill at sampling, his drums aren't good, he can't play instruments, there's no melodies, no good baselines, no soul, and there's not one technical ability he can hang his hat on. He just lucked into some hits mainly because his family put him in front of big name artists.

He's not even close to the producers who don't typically get named on top 5-10 these lists.

Nottz, Diamond D, Rockwilder, 9th, Battlecat, Mannie, DJ Paul, Organized Noize, Knxwledge... he's not even close to their ability. He just has hits but get into his album cuts and compare them to others and he's a joke.

Swizz made Party Up. That beat stood the test of time. They got elementary School white girls in a commercial dancing and rapping to it right now, lol.

He had some good moments and got better with time as he did R&B as well. But strictly hip hop beats he is not top 5.
This is not as good a metric as you think it is. I hear Flo Rida Low in more commercials and grocery stores than just about any hip hop song ever made and nobody knows who made that beat:mjlol:

"Swizz made Party Up" is no reason to put a nikka at top 5

He's in a hip hop discussion talking about what white girls are listening to:snoop:

Hits and record sales should never be the metric to judge the quality of someone's work. We might as well rank Vanilla Ice and Hammer over Black Thought.

Alchemist is not a hit maker and neither is Madlib. So what. Swizz is nowhere in their league.

I don't mind nikkas using hits but it shouldn't be everything especially when we're talking about top 5
