I wouldn't compare them. Back when Will was the Fresh Prince he was a real MC. He didn't have no ghost writing team. He came up on the streets of West Philly and rose to prominence on the strength of his DJ, Jazzy Jeff who was one of the best DJs on the planet. And if you came at his neck back then, he would've responded cause you couldn't let shyt go in those times.

Drake been soft and phony out the gate. Will didn't become like that til he basically retired as the Fresh Prince and went to Hollywood. He got rich, got married, became a family man and lost touch with the modern rap world and turned to writers. It's a disservice to compare him to Drake.

all of which are far better than him
he's the original meme rapper

yea they better but they still gave him some kind of respect working with him. whether people want to admit it or not Budden is an elite MC, he's not to be fukked with in a rap battle. matter of fact, the entire Slaughterhouse is not to be fukked with. they would destroy the rappers these fans are stanning over today.

that's one thing i respect about 50, he never backed down from a rap battle. looking back it was actually entertaining when he started to go at people. i just didn't get when he did it to East Coast artists with the exception of Ja Rule cause that was personal.

always had respect for 50, embodied what hip hop was about, keping things fun and interesting... funny how he's been talking bout rap being a kumbaya fest for years and everyone laughed now EVERYONE tired of this buddy buddy shyt

i mean i had no problem with him going at nikkas minus the Lox beef, that one was a wtf moment, no need.. everyting else was warranted

JAZZY JEFF TALKS ORIGINS OF SUMMERTIME & ‘GHOSTWRITER’ RAKIM | I MISS THE OLD SCHOOL
I Miss The Old School said:
One thing that Townes had to set the record straight about was a long-held rumor that Rakim had ghostwritten Smith’s lyrics on the song. But, as Townes explained, Smith was the sole author.

It’s just that the group was at a tricky point in their rap career just before the record dropped, having had lots of crossover success with songs like Parents Just Don’t Understand. Their cred among hip-hop purists was waning.

Townes told Smith to not add his name to the beginning of the song in order for rap fans not to dismiss it immediately as a pop tune. Instead, he instructed Smith to use another approach.

‘Will was always very hyper and I told him, “Bring it back. Vibe with it,”‘ Townes said. ‘And when he did that, everyone was like, “Wow. He sounds like Rakim.” From the first day we played the record for people, they thought it was Rakim. When we first released it, everyone was like, “Did you hear that new song that Rakim did?”‘

i think he went overboard with Nas, The LOX & Fat Joe cause them guys are what East Coast hip hop is about. Ja was personal, Cam wasn't a real beef he just made a mockery of him. all of that kumbaya shyt is alright, doesn't really bother me personally as long as it doesn't affect other artists thought process of doing their own thing.

"signed to 5 guys..." Neither meek nor Drake would ever say that shyt
Joe budden basically been marketing himself as some real hip hop dude he's never been hot his whole career
one of the more mediocre names in hip hop
That five guys line isn't even a top 5 line on this song and it's still better than every line on b2b which y'all hyped to infinity
