Big tour with 21 Savage last year, lead into a big tour with Cole, and later this year he's touring with Travis overseas. I get why Joe would say that but Joe also has zero interest/knowledge about artists outside of rap or "black shyt." Ed Shereen's current tour has been going since 2022. It wraps up in SEPTEMBER this year. His previous tour was went from 2017-2019 and grossed nearly $800 million dollars off 260 shows.
Taylor Swift's Eras tour started last March, ends up DECEMBER this year. 152 shows.
Are these bad deals or an acknowledgement that it's not the 1990s anymore, where your label could recoup off album sales alone. If you're a massive artist you're gonna end up on a massive tour. Going back to rap...Kendrick's last tour started in June 2022 and didn't end until last month. The labels will announce a US tour and then add an overseas leg to it later. We weren't thinking about it since he was overseas but Kendrick was doing massive arenas in Japan and Mexico when Like That dropped. In short, Drake's tour schedule has no bearing on whether it's a good or bad deal. It's probably a good deal because he's being paid a shyt ton of money, can release albums whenever he wants, and basically has to tour (on and off) in two year increments until he satisfies whatever the agreement is.
