Warren can't be VP because the Senate elections will be too close. Dems could end up in a 50-50 tie, but Warren as VP means the Republican Governor appoints a Republican Senator which means Republicans hold the majority 51-49. Do we want to take that chance with McConnell? Hell no.
i'm not sure charlie baker would have the balls to put a repubilican in that seat. the smart political move would be putting joe kennedy III in the seat. the fortunate son, coming home :skip:

if baker puts some scumbag republican in the seat, the state would be disgusted with him and then that senator would just lose in the real election, and baker would lose his re-election. he knows where he's at, massachusetts is not a swing state

She never really went at Joe in the primaries, been praising him at every turn, she used her email list to have a huge fundraising day for him last week (Biden campaign is well aware of their digital fundraising gaps), and Biden wanted her to be his running mate in 2016 if he ran :yeshrug:

They obviously don't have the best relationship though going back to the Obama admin or when he was a US Senator.

Now when I predict things, they don't happen :hubie: so watch it be someone like Val Demings

the Obama administration handed her the cfpb. She should get a position somewhere in his administration, but she shytted on Biden when he snuck his neck out for her. Biden also attempted to create a department like the cfpb 3 decades before Liz and bit his tongue about it, to let her get some glory. Liz wasn’t grateful.

I don’t even know if Liz will win her home states reelection, honestly. She’s not that well liked

If she's chosen and resigns before June 23rd (?) then, it would be six months of a Republican in the seat (assuming the legislature doesn't change the law). However, her seat would be on the ballot in November. You could tell Kennedy III to leave Markey alone and he'd easily win Warren's seat.

Edit: MA legislature could make it so the governor's appointment has to be someone from the same party as the vacating Senator (AZ, MD, NC do it this way). Or if they think Baker could still hustle them, they could go the Hawaii route and make the governor choose from a list of three candidates provided by the party of the vacating Senator.

She shouldn't resign. She needs to stay in the Senate just in case Biden loses. It wouldn't be a good look to run again when you resigned.

Lol she wouldn't she run again, she'd just retire.

If Biden loses then we're not getting the Senate back in 2020. If we don't get the Senate, then Trump gets 2-3 more SCOTUS appointments and the rest of federal judiciary is gone. Her being in the Senate is irrelevant in that scenario, there's no hope for 'big structural change' in that hellscape.

So there's no reason to hedge, bet the house.

when would be the real election hypothetically?

i feel like taking warren out and having her replaced isnt a big deal if its just a couple months of a republican lame duck

edit:

nvm

I'm pretty sure I have a better shot at getting a threesome with Lolo Wood and Taylor Rooks AND my fiancée being cool with it.
:mjlol::francis:

There aren't enough Trump-[insert Dem Senate candidate] voters to even entertain that...

Stacys done. She couldn’t even get on this conference with a initiative she’s living off of currently.
