I dont think the pandemic or the economy is going to be Democrats problem. Legalizing marijuana is more likely a harder feat then both of those. Its those type of issues that we want that we wont get action on. And thats because there are too many old people in Congress all together. If we voted and supported more young candidates in these primaries we may get there. Too much tribalism and eating away at each other for that though.

I think the Biden administration will do a decent to good job with the pandemic, but the economy is a completely different story. Fixing the economy won’t be anywhere close to easy. The economy has been shyt for a long time despite what the numbers say. We have serious underlining problems in this country. We are about to experience a major housing, and healthcare crisis due to covid. Student loan, and medical debt are crushing people. Small businesses have been absolutely massacred during covid. Our infrastructure is going to shyt, automation is slowly replacing more jobs, and salaries have been stagnant for decades.

Also people keep saying return to normalcy. That normalcy give us Donald Trump. If we do not address the underlining issues that was able to bring us Trump, it is only a matter of time before another, more intelligent version of Trump wins.

I am voting for Biden/Harris because they are 1000 times better than Trump/Pence. However, that is an extremely low bar. Imo both Biden and Harris records are bad, and they don’t give me confidences that they will fix the problems. We are going to need to spend Trillions upon trillions of dollars to get a good recovery. I have my doubts about Biden pushing to spend the money necessary to pull us out of this mess. I not even mentioning how problematic Biden is when it comes to policing, and foreign policy. For me this bigger than just getting rid of Trump.

These are Trump's contradictions, not Hawley's. Hawley has message discipline and rarely engaged in the contradictory nonsense that Trump attacks with. He's actually disregarding the marching orders coming down from Trump to use these incoherent attacks.



Trump is the biggest idiot ever born and cannot string together a coherent thought/strategy to save his life, but in the hands of a more disciplined next-gen Repub like Hawley, there is a strong attack angle and it goes like this: The Democrats are the party of the financial/economic elites (Wall Street and Silicon Valley loves them) who have been engaging in anti-populist policies (trade deals, monopolism, neoliberal crumbs for the masses) that steals the people's wealth and hands it over to foreigners (Chinese). That's a strong message to people who are feeling fukked over, which is the real swing demographic in the 21st century. It's bedfellows with the Sanders message and it's what enabled Trump to win a race he had absolutely no business winning. Obama was the change candidate, Trump was the change candidate, Biden will be (can be...should be) the change candidate. But the former 2 failed to produce meaningful change that met the scale of our moment and were punished by the electorate for it. If Biden follows their path, he will be punished for it too.

This is important because if the Democrats don't go big and structural because they're banking on the next challenger to be as dumb as Trump, they might be in for a rude awakening. I'm seeing a lot of people posting like we can just dust our hands and pat ourselves on the back once Biden beats Trump because that's the only important thing, allowing us to sleepwalk the next four years until the next election. I'm very confident Biden will beat Trump, I'm more concerned about what the next 4 years will look like.
