Thats the problem with the Democratic Party today. Its a flip-flopping, pandering joke.
"Defund police" = Elect a DA with an absolutely horrible policing record(ESP for POC) for VP
Look out for workers rights = Sell out the country to China
Racist = Literally the author of the most horrendous crime bill thats affected the black community in recent history + the DA responsible for enforcing it to outrageous amounts
I could go on but I'm not going to. Y'all just elected two walking hypocrisies to everything you've been working for the past few months.
Kamala is gonna steal the Indian crowd and the pro-law moderates but she's also gonna make a lot of progressives stay home.
I think we're getting ahead ourselves with the analysis.
This election is a referendum on Trump. He is the POTUS. He is unpopular. He has failed the country with the pandemic response and has shown no leadership.
But should he lose and let's say he loses big, Dems get Senate, have a mandate to govern... and they don't perform quick easy wins for Americans... then you'll see the same replay of what happened in 2010 and 2014.
And you'll have the 2024 cycle with Kamala as your presumptive nominee. Does she face a legit primary or not? Is she running on actual accomplishments or not? Same questions would surround Biden if he were to run for a 2nd term of course.
In that scenario, you will have a lot of lefties stay home or not vote or vote 3rd party. The GOP would have a more polished version of Trump, assuming the Bush neocons can't re-take control of the party.
I think many are expecting the worst case scenario of a Biden administration in which they don't actually govern effectively, can't sell their accomplishments, can't take over the news cycle because best believe the broadcast networks and CNN will 'both sides' everything immediately. And Dems will try to compromise with themselves. And we know how that turns out.
