Nope. Wisconsin is NOT trending blue. Also, how will Baldwin a relatively unknown senator help Joe Biden on a national level?

Additionally, there is no evidence that she will help Joe in the Midwest outside of Wisconsin.

Additionally, while people are more comfortable with a gay woman than a gay man. Her being a lesbian will become a big topic of discussion and will be a big deal for some voters (on a nationwide level). Trump will probably call her the "gay Pocahontas/Elizabeth Warren".

Finally, she doesn't want to be VP and WE. DON'T. NEED. TO. JEOPARDIZE. HER. SEAT.

How u know she doesnt want to be VP?

Trump will call anybody names but Baldwin dont got the baggage Warren has since she is not a national figure. Any woman is gonna receive that sexist treatment whether she is gay or not. I like her better than Kamala and Klobuchar for a fact because of her progressive roots and Warren has too much baggage and a republican governor. I dont think Abrams will help Joe like everyone thinks.

And like I said, if Trump loses Winsconsin its gonna be an early night because Trump is not gonna win Michigan and Pennsylvania again. And he knows it. Biden just needs Winsconsin to beat Trump and it's the only iffy state that Trump surprisingly won in 2016 that could go either way.

A Baldwin selectionwould may really box in Trump's paths to the whitehouse in November. It could be trending blue. Look at the 2018 election results in Winsconsin. Baldwin trounced the republican and Evers beat freakin Scott Walker.

U gotta take chances to win, she makes the most sense in winning the White House

And just curious, who do u like as the VP choice btw?

I've already explained why I disagree with you so I'm not going to be going in circles.

Also, I've already said multiple times who I think that Biden will pick.

Finally, Tammy Baldwin doesn't want to be VP and we shouldn't jeopardize her seat. I'm not saying it again.

Aight breh, u seem a little testy, just trying to learn some things through a productive convo :hubie:.

What u said isnt true btw.

‘I haven’t ruled it out’: Wisconsin Senator Tammy Baldwin on possible vice president role with 2020 Democratic

When asked by WTMJ’s Steve Scaffidi if a possible No. 2 slot on a Democratic ticket could be in play, Senator Tammy Baldwin said she’s open right now to the option.

“I haven’t ruled it out,” she said to Steve with a warm laugh on Friday.

Their discussion on WTMJ Friday somewhat dived into the race for President, one in which – like Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett – she is not committing to endorsing a candidate due to her host role at the 2020 Democratic National Convention here in Milwaukee.

“I have a special role as the Democratic U.S. Senator from Wisconsin hosting the convention, making sure as best I can to make it a fabulous event for our nominee – should we have that nominee by that time,” said Baldwin, who has made presidential endorsements in the past.

“I want to be able to tell all the finalists in the Democratic nomination that this is what I learned how to win Wisconsin in the 2018 (Senate) race…(issues are) what we need to focus on.”
.

Dont be heated when Joe picks her tho :manny:

Even if she is "open" to it. WE DON'T NEED TO JEOPARDIZE HER SEAT.

Also, she would not help Joe Biden at all really. I'm "testy" because it's annoying that so many Democratic voters want to put certain Democratic politicians into a higher office when it's not necessary.

Anyways, like I said, we're going in circles. So let's just agree to disagree. No hate breh :yeshrug:.

I think it's worth the risk. Joe Biden is not a strong candidate, and that VP pick is going to be important for him in order to unify the party. Tammy checks so many boxes without bringing much baggage.

Really, I thought the seventeenth amendment forces the governor of the state only to fill a senate vacancy. Like no one else

I'm looking for that supermajority in a trouncing for Republicans in November. She is like the perfect reconciliation of the democratic base to allow high turnout.

So it wouldnt matter to me if they happen to lose a senate seat in a special election. I think Scott Walker is done in that state. He is not a really beloved guy there.

Yeah, that's not what it does. Anyway, supermajority is 60 seats, there's no path to that this cycle even on a great night.

Walker was a stand in because he's the first statewide Republican that came to mind. The point was, like OH, WI seems to be trending red demographically so putting that seat at risk when a simple majority is the likely outcome isn't a wise move. We just saw WisDems fail to turnout for the 2019 state supreme court race after doing so in 2018.

Being able to fix the courts and passing legislation should be the party's primary concern.

I would add rebuilding state parties to that. Dems need to stop chasing cul de sacs and start fighting the republicans on their home turf.

If it's a woman, Warren makes the most sense. Biden already is going to get the safe, moderate old voters and the black voters, so Amy, Kamala and Stacy don't make sense. He needs to excite the dejected progressives who would otherwise stay home, or worse, vote for Trump out of spite.

Those progressives who would stay home or vote out of spite are likely Bernie Bros who hate Warren more than anyone else.

If Biden picks Warren it's purely out of personal respect. They aren't good friends, have different world views, and she doesn't do much electorally for him. I can see Biden going with her because she's been tough on him. Old cacs like Biden and Trump love tuff people....yes and they spell tough tuff.

Karen Bass. She's got state and federal experience. She's got foreign policy experience. She's a huge proponent of criminal justice reform. She's strong in other areas where Biden is weak as well. She's also who Clyburn is supposedly pushing for.
Not a bad choice. However, she's 66, so she is on the older side. Assuming Joe wins and only serves 1 term, would she run for Prez in 2024? I doubt it.

I would be OK with that pick though.

He should pick Stacey Abrams. Picking Kamala or Klobachar is asking to lose.
