Joe Biden selects Senator Kamala Harris as his VP Pick

Trump and the GOP don't give a shyt about logical or moral consistency, they keep running that dumbass "Democrats are the party of slavery, Republicans are the party of Lincoln" line, they're going to attack Joe on the crime bill. Attacking Kamala on Willie Brown is 100% something Parscale and the MAGA apparatus will attempt if she's Joe's running mate. I'm not saying it will be decisive or successful, but they're going to try it, and Stormy Daniels ain't stopping that. Just like Trump's rape accusations didn't stop him from attacking Bill/Hillary on that front and won't stop him from attacking Joe on Tara Reade.

Stop making decisions based on fear of Trump. He's gonna do what he's gonna do regardless. Biden winning or losing won't depend on the VP choice (assuming he's still alive on election day).

A VP candidate's baggage only matters insofar as it might turn down Dem turnout on its own, not that it gives Trump ammo. He creates bullshyt ammo out of thin air, and I haven't seen strong evidence it will actually make a difference in 2020. It might have been a factor in 2016 but that's because Hillary was a uniquely bad candidate with a metric ton of baggage and she was at the top of the ticket. Plus Trump didn't have the same baggage or governing record he now has. 2020 isn't 2016. Like, Tim Kaine was a bad VP choice precisely because he was boring enough to not attract Trump's ire. Amy Klobuchar is probably the VP nom most impervious to attacks from Trump and she'd be the worst choice imo.

I just don't think potential Democratic voters are going to care whether Trump has a nickname for Biden's VP or is attacking them for who they were fukking 30 years ago. The actual swing voters aren't people who are still, in 2020, deciding between Trump and Biden, they're people deciding whether to sit at home or come out and vote for Biden. The real VP baggage is not being able to reach those people.

Under the assumption that Biden will serve 1 term and bow out, Biden is picking a VP who will most likely be the Democratic Presidential nominee in 2024. Biden needs to pick someone that has the best chance to win the 2024 election.

The only choices that can potentially win the 2024 election are Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren. Gov. Whitmer from Michigan could potentially be on that list too.

Stacey Abrams would get embarrassed, Keisha Bottoms would probably get embarrassed too, Val Demings would not win, Amy Klob would probably get embarrassed and lose in the primary, etc.
