If Biden can do that, he can run the table and get over 300 electoral votes combined with wins in NC, FL among other places. The fact we are even talking about this should be a message to the DNC to get on the ground in WI,OI, MI and help build the state parties up again. No Democratic presidential candidate is winning Ohio this year or for the foreseeable future. Ohio is a red state now, it's no longer a battleground state.

The Democratic nominee doesn't have to win Ohio to become president.

All the Democratic nominee has to do is win the same states Hillary did in 2016 (which is a guarantee) and then flip back Wisconsin, Michigan & Pennsylvania (that's going to be the hard part). That's it. Winning any other state would be a bonus and mean that Trump lost in a big landslide.

Furthermore, Ohio is a lost cause. Ohio has a higher white working class population than the national average (those voters heavily favor Republicans). Ohio also has a higher white, non-college educated population than the national average (those voters are heavily Republican). The big cities of Ohio are just not enough to outweigh the rest of the state.
