I look at it like this....Cloverfield just refers to the "Incident"..Paradox explains what happened. But anything that has Cloverfield in it is a result of what happened in Paradox. It affected different dimensions, timelines, etc. So now they can make up any story they want and have it relate.

See that's the part I dont like. When you start playing with dimensions and alternate timelines anything is possible. They could tie in Pacific Rim or Godzilla on some it "It was the Shepard particle accelerator that did it "
