Maybe your definition of an anthology is different from what mines is

An anthology to me is something like Black Mirror.. A combination of different stories with similar themes.

Regardless of what they said (which they have changed multiple times in the past 10 years) thats not the case if there is a DIRECT sequel/prequel connection between the movies which they've already shown that there is.

Even Cloverfield Lane was connected to the original Cloverfield movie

Our issue was them putting out movies that have no connection to Cloverfield but calling it Cloverfield which is what they said they were doing.

But the new commercial directly showed that there is a connection between the first movie and possibly the second.. They made it abundantly clear..

So let that anthology shyt go nikka.. Its not an anthology. They never knew the direction they were going to take this shyt..

They are not seperate stories with no connection other than the Cloverfield name. I hope you understand this.

It's an anthology series, the stories can still connect - all 'anthology' really means is that it's a collection of flicks. We now use 'franchise' or Star Wars uses 'saga', Marvel/DC/Dark 'universe' etc.

Anthology just gives it the freedom where some movies don't have to be direct sequels/prequels, which gives them the ability to really give/take that Cloverfield take from any new movie they want.

the third movie isnt tied directly to lane. The last two movies are connected to part one. Both of the movies after one were other movies before rewrites so they don't feel connected outside of disjointed scenes

It's connected on some bullshyt where the big dude in Cloverfield lane was supposedly in the Navy during the first Cloverfield movie and he ended up working with another company after that worked with another company and blah blah blah

Basically some made up shyt they kept running with to make the movies seem connected imo. None that the average viewer knows or cares to know because they never made it significantly clear enough in the movies

this is gonna be 2 dudes holed up in a bunker/foxhole type thing while the horrors of war are going on outside. they're gonna keep hearing weird noises, and they're gonna talk about how they need to get out there. one guy is gonna have a comic or something in his rucksack that has a logo which if you do 45 minutes of research you'll find out is for a company who made the company who made slusho. psychosis is gonna kick in, they're gonna turn on each other, one of hte guys is gonna die, then in the last .05 seconds, the guy is gonna go for it, break out and run into those parasites from the first Cloverfield movie. prequel shyttttt!!!!

meanwhile, the original script was probably just a WW2 script about 2 trapped soldiers.

I went into depth but people bytching about spoliers for the shytty movie that came out on Netflix so I had to edit the post. And yes this can be an anthology if you want to say that because it's one situation from different pov's all coming back to one thing. Like VHS and other movies of the sort. Or like comic books. Telling one overall story and having. Tie ins and one shots that ties into it or explains things better

This had fringe all over it and i loved that show. I liked this one better then cloverfield lane, also jensen is a straight up
