His album was only half bad. He had a track with Kanye West that got pulled that would have took off.

Serius Jones damn near pushed this dude to suicide.

Jin was nice, particularly with the freestyles, but he got that extra boost that Black people love to give to non-Black perpetrators of our art.

I completely disagree. Like I said, non-Black minorities are scrutinized more than White dudes when it comes to hip hop. And the irony is that some non-Black minorities (particularly East Asians) know and feel hip hop more than 99% of White people.

Jin was the best freestyler in the history of 106 and Park. He had the best combination of tone, cadence and bars. Maybe you can name someone better but I doubt it.

The year 3030
good freestyler...but can't really make an album or song to save his life. He's good for a verse or two

his album(s) have been alright..nothing special....on his debut he wasted a nice (and one of my favorites) kanye beat...didn't do that shyt any justice

Bullshyt. If a Black guy came in doing the exact same shyt Jin did, we wouldn't be having this thread about them this many years later.

To be honest, I don't remember enough battlers on 106 & Park to say. If you're saying Jin was the best pure freestyler on the show, I can't really argue with you. He wasn't the best battler to come through that show though; Lux, Hollow, Arsonal, etc., all came on that 106 stage.

I get where you're coming from, but I disagree.

What made Jin so incredible was his ability to make up great rebuttals on the spot. He countered all that "you Asian" talk/slurs into dope rhymes.

I can't think of a Black freestyler on 106 that was murking nikkas on the spot based on what they were wearing/shyt they just said, that did as nice as Jin.

If you know, point him out.

Then there's no issue here - you agree with me. As far as freestyle battles over a beat is concerned, Jin was the best to come through 106. That's all I'm saying.

if Jin had been White, he would've been given far more chances and hype. Believe that.

I DEFINITELY agree with that.

My argument was that if Jin had been Black, he's just another guy, word to Isiah Thomas.

I don't think non-Blacks have ever been at a disadvantage compared to Blacks, even in Black culture. Black people are far more willing than any other race to support someone from OUTSIDE of their race appropriating them.

Reminds me of Supernat.

Absolutely phenomenal, charismatic and witty of the top, very rare tier regarding that skill but could not bring it to songs where they looked like different artist.

They just lose their magic in the studio.
