Thibs reportedly asked for Ben Simmons initially from Philly when the Butler trade request became public. He also wanted more from MIA than Richardson, Olynyk and a 1st Rounder... so a lot of this is on Thibs, cause he was going around asking for an unrealistic return from jump street... and while he was on bullshyt, the owner ended up having final say and that's how Saric and Covington is in Minny right now without a 1st Rounder attached.

Thibs knew Philly wasn't going to part ways with Simmons on a rookie deal breh, it was an asinine trade offer looking at the circumstances around Butler's situation.

Saric and Covington is a decent haul for Jimmy honestly, it would have been good if they got a 1st as well. It just wasn't better than what MIA offered before the season started
