Jimmy Butler traded to Philly for Robert Covington and Dario Saric. Jimmy plans to re-sign.

Where will Jimmy land?

I don't know how I feel about this. Thrilled to have Butler this season at least, and we can contend in the East with him in the lineup. But we just traded away 2 of our shooters (and one of our best defenders), and Butler's got that Thibs mileage on him.

OTOH, we got rid of Jerryd and we'll be seeing less and less of bullshyt like last night where they go 5-6 minutes without a field goal.

They are putting shooters around KAT

When Minny upgrades pg...their starting 5 is set for next 4-5 yrs
This. We get younger shooters who are signed for some years. This was a smart play. The Rockets first rounders would have been terrible fukking picks. Thibs wants to compete now and this gives us a chance to

Durant plays Toronto? Steph Curry? Bron?

The fact that Toronto has Kawhi doesn't mean they're the best TEAM in the East. The Raptors have to prove that they're playoff tested as are. The Celtics, on the other hand, are the deepest team in the East. Early season games aside, Boston has too many scorers, shooters and has too elite a defense for Toronto if they were to meet in the ECF. And while Kawhi is a beast and NBA champ, there are too many question mark's around his supporting cast which looks good so far this season but are still not playoffs-tested. Cs are still the team to beat in the East.

Toronto is damn-near deeper than Boston, their kids just don’t have the potential star power of some of Boston’s pups. And no one pays attention because... Canucks. :russ:

It’s way too soon to count them out. Especially when they’ve looked like the better TEAM since the start of the season, to borrow your point.

Minnesota improved their spacing and depth, more usage for Wiggins, Towns, and Rose now. Got rid of that locker room cancer.

Philadelphia hurt their spacing even more now. I don’t like this trade at all for them. Philly has just had made terrible additions. Should have tried to keep Belinelli and Ilyasova this offseason, or at least picked up adequate replacements like Wayne Ellington and Nemaja Bjelica.

Now Butler gonna call Embiid a clown and Simmons a p*ssy

False

The Sixers we’re heading for a 30 for 30 once they got bounced the next couple of seasons in the semis. Ben doesn’t have the skill set to alleviate what Joel will face during crunch time. Jimmy provides them perimeter balance in tight spots allowing Ben to grow at his own pace. The Sixers got all the mileage they were going to get out of Joel being down low, Ben not being a threat standing at the perimeter and everyone else chucking dumb 3s
