Honestly games should be a lot more expensive. Games are pretty cheap for the hours of content they provide and the amount of manhours/budget spent to make them. Even with that I imagine that the majority that are always bringing up microtransations and DLC tend to buy games at a discounted price anyway.

Play the base game and be done with it if you don't want to spend more.

You guys are just spoiled. There are some cases that can't be defended such as 2K and their blatant attempt to get people to grind their life away in one of their most popular modes.

BUT

On average if you were to break down how many hours you get from a typical $60 game - video games tend to win based on value. People spend $30-$60 easy on a movie night and its all over in a few hours. Same goes for gambling at a casino etc.
This right here.

The gaming industry probably gives more entertainment per dollar than almost any other form of entertainment.

And like you said, there are DEFINITELY instances of exploitation that should be highlighted, such as what 2K has been doing but I do think this is an overstated issue.

Gamers have definitely become entitled. Myself included.

If people keep buying the DLC, skins, microtransactions and different editions then publishers will keep selling the shyts.

I can personally count on one hand what dlc I have bought post game and that was for Scott Pilgrim (Knives) and Sleeping Dogs.
