I read this book on Jay-Z last month. The author wrote that Jay has this uncanny ability of taking on a mentor, learning everything he can from that particular person, and once he learns how to execute whatever skill better than his teacher can, it's curtains for them He did it with Dehaven/Calvin Klein (introduced him to drug dealing), Jaz-O/Big Daddy Kane (introduced him to the rap industry) and Dame (introduced him to the boardroom).
