Oh what bar is this?

Here is the way the story goes from the accounts of Esoteric, and several fans from the show: Cage had been on the Internet dissing Esoteric for whatever reason, saying that he was running his mouth with “no skills to back it” and told him to “tighten up his cadence.” Esoteric thought they should settle it with a battle.

The Demigodz went to NYC and did a show that Cage, Copywrite and Camu Tao would also be performing at. At the end of the last song, Esoteric offered, “if anyone wants to battle, I’ll be here all night.” To which Celph-Titled grabbed the mic and yelled “Y’all should stick around. We got some gay rappers up soon. I’ve never seen one so you know I’ma stick around. fukk Cage, fukk Copywrite and fukk Homoconference Records!” The challenge was laid, and they waited. Cage finally came out on stage and Esoteric asked him to battle several times, each time with Cage refusing him.

At that point Celph-Titled had enough and walked up to Cage and started swinging on him. Word is that Cage got his ass handed to him by Celph and didn’t even fight back. If you were at the show and saw things differently, be sure to let me know.

“We ain’t battling no more/we ain’t making dis records/we going to shows and punching muthafukka’s in the faces.” – Apathy, Intro “The Godz Must Be Crazy”

guess I misheard/misremembered a lyric on Nineteen Ninety Now and some internet talk :manny:

I (mis)remembered Celph talking about catching Cage at a bar and beating his ass while Copywrite watched.

but hey I can be wrong.

Oh yeah, I heard this happened, there was an altercation and Celf definitely got the better but Cage also later hit Celf Titled over the head with a bottle also at a bar so I wasn't sure which story you were referring to.

The fact they can make it sound that much like cam is disturbing.

Believe none of what you hear and none of what you see….

I think the cam shyt is real…it’s when him and jim were first beefing…I forgot where it was where cam was talking about jim being emotional but it was after jim had did an interview where he shed a tear for moment…I forgot over what tho…I think he was talking about him and cam
Timestamped from the Cam IG Live where they got it from. I already found it before I hit next post and realized it was from Wednesday.

This was after Jim Jones went on Flex. Jim cries like a minute after the timestamp. I forgot about all this.

I found said track I remembered hearing (I could write a rhyme) and you're right.

the whole "bar/bottle/copywrite" thing may be my hearing too much internet gibberish/time/inebriation

We really overuse Hip Hop is from the streets.. it is..

But rappers never went left in entertainment in the beginnings.. if Jim wanna be the clown he is and go left, so be it. He really has no real history of being a goon but only to soft ass Gibbs.

listen man I don't have a dawg in this fight. but them dipset guys were really goons. I've been in a club where Dipset/ASAP crew shut the whole shyt down cause people got cut. Jim is flamed up and flaunts it.

Anytime you see centered red letters with those dumbass cutesy smileys just know that you can disregard anything that guy has to say. Easily one of the worst posters on this entire board.

u not wrong....

if a broad told you things could go left....

your supervisor tells you things can go left....

etc.....

but Jim is a gangster rapper and push is a hustler rapper.

I think that dynamic is a little different than cage and self titled; they both have histories of violence.

Jim has a history of running and getting slumped, if that's what you mean by a history of violence :heh:

So Wayne is a fan of Pharrell's clothing line and bought it when he could not get it for free and BABY stiffed Pharrell. And he disses Wayne? Sorry that doesn’t make sense to me. Baby should be the target.

Doesn’t make sense because it’s retconned bullshyt nerds on the net pieced together to try to pretend Pusha didn’t start the beef by being a jealous hater….same why they try to pretend the beef with Drake started because some random line bout his favorite rappers falling off that didn’t have shyt to do with push

People have known about Pharrell getting stiffed on What Happen To That Boy for years. There's nothing retconned about it. Baby stiffed Pharrell so Clipse went at the entire label and never let up.

EDIT: I just checked and the shyt is literally mentioned in the Wikipedia article for the song :mjlol:

Role in Clipse vs. Cash Money feud

"What Happened to That Boy" is rumored throughout the hip-hop community to have sparked the long-running feud between Clipse and Cash Money Records, although the artists involved have not confirmed this publicly.[3][4][5][6] According to Hot 97 hip-hop DJ Ebro Darden, The Neptunes never received the payment they were promised from Cash Money for producing "What Happened to That Boy"; as a result, Pharrell Williams is alleged to have refused to work with the label in the future, leading Clipse member Pusha T to repeatedly attack Cash Money artists – mainly Lil Wayne at first, then Drake throughout the 2010s – in his music over the following years, out of loyalty to Williams.[4][6]

:mjlol: …we’ve been discussing this shyt literally for decades at this point, and that particular wrinkle is indeed some retconned bullshyt that was never brought up prior to Ebro in ‘18 (feel free to use the internet machine and post 3 examples of it being mentioned before then on here or anywhere else)….and fan fiction aside, that’s besides the point, cause assuming that was even the case it still is nonsensical for Pusha to spend 20 years dissing people because their boss didn’t pay his boss for a song 20 years ago…all the while Pharrell continues to make songs with them

It sounds silly, because it’s made up bullshyt…(not the baby not paying part, cause he doesn’t pay anyone lol…but that being the source of the beef)
