Destined for failure here.

Caldwell is a bad head coach for the most part. His track record tells you this, he rode Peyton to that SB but I don't see this working out well for the Lions.

Just look at dudes college record of 26-63 to tell you all you need to know
he was at wake forrest tho :patrice:

Wake.
I'm guessing a lot of yall are like me...happy to see Caldwell get another job just as long as it isn't for your team. I mean we gotta be honest it's not a terribly exciting move for a franchise to go with. And I'm 100% for black coaches getting head coaching jobs.

They were trying to force the 4-3 on him when he's a 3-4 guy. Only the Lions, a team that has won a single playoff game in the past 57 years, would tell a potential coach that they refuse to let him run his defensive system.
we dont have the personnel for that system though :patrice: Whisenhunt was smoking something there.

His whole legacy here is what can he do with Stafford. I don't trust QB's that pass to 5 star receivers at every stop, you can't gauge how good they are. At Georgia, Stafford was throwing to AJ Green. At Detroit, to Calvin Johnson. When Calvin doesn't play, the sky is falling. I don't know brehs....

Matt Stafford wants no parts of a qb coach. Who gets hired? the man who brought tapes of all his plays. lol That was hard to watch over 16 weeks much less one sitting :russ:

I still don't get how in the fukk your 25 year old QB with terrible mechanics and decision making had the power to :whoa: a QB coach. I would've told him to STFU and deal with it.

I'm lost to that too breh.

'Martin called me and said we're looking for a leader who can help turn our locker room into a winning one and to help us get the most out of our investment in Matthew Stafford,'' Dungy recalled in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. ''I told Martin that Jim Caldwell is exactly what you're looking for. He'll lead by making people accountable and by being a role model on and off the field. And with his attention to detail and history of developing quarterbacks, Stafford is going to flourish just like Peyton Manning did with us in Indianapolis.''

As someone who actually watched every game of Caldwell's tenure with the Colts.....he leaves A LOT to be desired in playcalling, aggressiveness, and developing players. He seems to be more suited to a OC role IMHO. He's a great guy and all the players loved him and that may be all that matters, but a lot of you are giving him way too much credit for that 09 Superbowl run.
