Her "plan for Black people" has no chance to be passed, as she has no chance of election. So yes, it's empty rhetoric.

When you have nothing at stake you can promise all kinds of stuff that will never be law.

I'd disagree in the sense that if voters who want to be appealed to vote for green, that's votes that both parties are losing.

If the platform of a green or socialist party (Home Page - Party for Socialism and Liberation) shows enough appeal to take votes from people who would have voted Democrat or republican, it sends a message that those ideas are popular. If they want those votes, they simply need to steal some of those ideas.

The universal healthcare system in Canada was an idea that was proposed by a party that has never won a national election. It was an idea that was stolen by another party and implemented because it was popular. Politicians don't change the world, movements and ideas do. When you take a look at labor history, that's all stuff that was achieved through popular movements in the street. Hell even the basis for democracy in the English speaking world(the magna carta) was created by nobles and merchants who cornered the king and basically demanded he sign it.

I don't think Jill stein is 100% serious. I was watching a video where a Democrat spoke on it and said her social media presence is empty the rest of the year but when it's time to run, suddenly it gets active again. That is a fair point. I think the greens serve a purpose though, they're a barometer for the strength of progressive thought in America. It's also how I know all these "no black agenda no vote!" Clowns are agents at worst and useful idiots at best. Greens and socialist literally have reparations as part of their platform. Staying at home is much easier than using ones brain and actually supporting an alternative candidate to prove that what they're talking about is something you believe in.
