Zach Wilson may very well be better than Sam Darnold. Sam threw a lot of dumb interceptions. You can’t teach someone who’s dumb. Zach is afraid to throw interceptions. I want to see him go to another team because it’s not happening here. You can watch Sam Darnold go from team to team is still think he’s better than Geno Smith.

At least the hill I died on in Geno Smith is now a pro bowl quarterback. Sam is just the interception prone dumb quarterback.

The Jets deserve this.

Wilson hasn't been good, but the fact of the matter is that the Jets were a flawed team that felt Aaron Rodgers would somehow mask their trash OL and a defense that is objectively damn good but not quite as great as they thought they were. The team was supposed to be carried by their run game and defense. Outside of an 80-yard run by Breece against Buffalo, that run game hasn't been there. And in their efforts to make things easy for Zach, the Jets have actually made things harder for a kid who needs everything else to go right around him to have a chance. Because they can't run the ball and they seem not to want to run plays that could potentially result in a turnover.

Zach needs good coaching BADLY and as best I can tell, he has not received that. He hasn't helped himself, but the Jets set up their roster to only work with a QB who is at a stage where there's nothing a coach can tell him that he hasn't already seen, heard or thought about. That QB went down because, in part, of the very thing he was supposed to mask with quick decision making.

Hackett was brought in to give Rodgers someone he trusts (or a yes man, however you want to slice it) in the QB/Offensive meeting room.

Sometimes you gamble and lose. That's what happened here. I think the biggest thing you have to take away from what happened is the Jets weren't one good QB away from a SB run. The OL is in shambles and they only have one dependable WR.

Sure. Barring some historic turnaround, this is the last year Fields starts in the NFL. I'm sympathetic to the argument that the Bears ruined him with bad coaches but end of the day he doesn't look like an NFL QB. He can't read defenses and that has nothing to do with coaches. It has to do with film study and basic understanding of the game.
