It's a historical fact that there was a guy named Jesus and he was religious leader of a sect of Jews and he was baptized by John the Baptist and then crucified by the Romans...on the orders of Pontius Pilate

Every historian of the Bible...agrees on that.

You can look at the work of Bart D. Ehrman, John Dominic Crosan, Joseph Hoffman, Gerd Ludeman, Michael Grant, Ed Parish Sanderes....all serious scholars of the Bible with Ph.Ds...that aren't necessarily Christians...and they all think he existed...

Here's some religious studies for you...by Bart Ehrman...one of the biggest Jesus scholars...

What tangible benefit does one receive for believing in jesus?

Black people...all of this is our fault due to how we talk. You know cacs take our slang serious at face value.

Example: In 500 years it may spread that Lebron, Jay z, Tom Brady, are all some type of hybrids by being part goat.

Half ass interpretations of afrikan peoples stories, etymology, slang, and creativeness are the genesis of all religions.

Cacs actually believed we worshipped gods...in their nosey, goofy way. They wanted us to worship them so they watched us (as they do now) and handed us gods to worship. With their own lil twist of course.

Thing is, something happened to black people back then which allowed us to fall for the okeedoke. There was a loss of knowledge and awareness. Perhaps some cataclysm.

All in all, they have us worshipping our slang and creative way with words.

That Jesus existed is in all honesty never really contested. Not sensibly, anyway. Now whether or not he was the son of god and ascended to heaven? Ladies and gentlemen, there are many many many many parables and stories that predate jesus that have a large amount of similarities. It makes for some great debate. Especially with folks who don't know anything about it because it doesn't get preached from the pulpit.

No ...you read a book op :umad:

- The Washington Post

Did historical Jesus really exist? The evidence just doesn't add up.

"Numerous secular scholars have presented their own versions of the so-called “Historical Jesus” – and most of them are, as biblical scholar J.D. Crossan puts it, “an academic embarrassment.” From Crossan’s view of Jesus as the wise sage, to Robert Eisenman’s Jesus the revolutionary, and Bart Ehrman’s apocalyptic prophet, about the only thing New Testament scholars seem to agree on is Jesus’ historical existence. But can even that be questioned?

The first problem we encounter when trying to discover more about the Historical Jesus is the lack of early sources. The earliest sources only reference the clearly fictional Christ of Faith. These early sources, compiled decades after the alleged events, all stem from Christian authors eager to promote Christianity – which gives us reason to question them. The authors of the Gospels fail to name themselves, describe their qualifications, or show any criticism with their foundational sources – which they also fail to identify. Filled with mythical and non-historical information, and heavily edited over time, the Gospels certainly should not convince critics to trust even the more mundane claims made therein."

Even if he did exist

His whole purpose was dying for our sins

Which were originally created when Adam and Eve disobeyed god

Yet anyone with a fundamental understanding of science/evolution/anthropology understands that we're products of evolution just like every other animal on this planet (grow up and accept it, nothing makes sense without evolution...medicine breakthroughs, cures for disease, dna, nothing)

And that Adam and Eve were just a colorful myth to make sense of our origins when we had no real clue how to find such things out.

They didn't exist

Therefore he died for absolutely nothing even if he did actually exist and did all the stuff the bible claims he did.

And he wasted his time and could have done something more constructive instead of regurgitating Buddhist beliefs and philosophy

And where is the proof for that? There is absolutely no proof of evolution of kinds. There is however, abundant evidence that evolution is nonsense and doesnt even follow the scientific method.

Its funny how people make fun of religious folks for believing in an outdated / unscientific belief, yet have blind faith in a theory from the 19th century where the guy who proposed it thought the cell was just a protoplasm ( jelly ) :russ:
