I can't even knock Girardi. This is on the Yankee bats. If Joe puts in Wade and he gets smacked up, then what? They ran out of bodies and because the Yankees can't seem to play any kind of game except a close one, they had no bullpen.
I wouldn't have used Phelps either. They'll probably need him big time tomorrow once the Yankees play ANOTHER close game.

and another thing, Chavez as a pinch hitter needs to end. He's a 4-32 in that role. If he doesn't start the game, his only use is for defensive replacement. He can't hit in a pinch for you.
