You saw it in slow-motion/freeze frame.

He saw it all full speed.

If you've never umped, you wouldn't really understand I guess....but it's just not that easy.

Again....shyt call though.

I saw it on the game nicca only reason I needed replay was i thought maybe he came off. Don't make excuses it wasn't a bang bang play he fukked up Jerry meals screwed up before bro. Don't make excuses it was horrible call

As an umpire, when players do things you're not ready for...like sliding into first like a moron...the call is exponentially more difficult. Especially at first base when a lot of a bang-bang play can be called based on sounds. When you slide headfirst, you don't make a sound.

shyt call....but I'm just saying

:manny:

What did Jerry do? Close his eyes?

I don't even think people would be as upset if it was a bang bang play. Tex was in clearly. I'd even go so far as to say Tex woulda made it standing up, but he slides faster than he runs, so probably not, but his belly was on first by the time the ball got to Reynolds.

Even at full speed it was obvious that Tex was safe. It was a bang bang play. Almost half his body was across the bag by the time Reynolds caught the ball. Umpiring isn't easy we all know that. But this is the majors and these two teams are battling for the division lead in September. If you can't make the calls, then you can't be the ump. :birdman:

Lol at Girardi and Joel Sherman getting in each other's face and having to be separated by security.

So your saying it was a horrible call but at the same time trying to stick up for the ump. Again how does that make sense?
