I’m not going to agree with the notion that it takes 100k to raise two children per month but I do believe that judges award these settlements so that there isn’t a discrepancy/imbalance between the lifestyles of each parent.

It’s done this way so that there is no major differences in the households; however, in the majority of cases, the money does not go to that specific cause. So if Jesse makes 550k a month, it makes sense to provide at least a quarter of that to the mother so there isn’t a great disparity in the lifestyles between homes.

I bet you don’t have children talking like that. Your kids will be so dysfunctional having to live in the lap of luxury one week and dreading to go live in their mother’s cramped tenement because you want to play Scrooge McDuck.

I know most women won’t take the money and make sure that the kids standard of living is somewhat similar to the lifestyle they lived when the parents were together. Most will make sure that their lifestyle doesn’t take the hit and the go and cry to the judge for more money.

It’s sucks but that is also why you must stick it out with the woman once you decide to have kids with her.
