I’m not going to agree with the notion that it takes 100k to raise two children per month but I do believe that judges award these settlements so that there isn’t a discrepancy/imbalance between the lifestyles of each parent.
It’s done this way so that there is no major differences in the households; however, in the majority of cases, the money does not go to that specific cause. So if Jesse makes 550k a month, it makes sense to provide at least a quarter of that to the mother so there isn’t a great disparity in the lifestyles between homes.
