We had a similar situation happen at my job a chick got picked up for a 3 yr detail and immediately got pregnant. It was around COVID too. So in total she worked like 7 months out of the 3 yrs and left them short handed the entire time since they couldn't replace her. Supervisor got paperwork during a brief because he called her useless in front of everyone. Then the worst part is that all 3 yrs count as experience on her resume now since she technically was filling the role lolYou’re right, but here’s the thing- who gets a new job and takes maternity leave like, a few months later? No one.
Chick got a new job and got knocked up out of wedlock right after. She was hired because they needed a third person. She went on leave after they secured her, the new third person.
You are supposed to be on your Ps and Qs the first year on a new job.

This literally just happened for the company I work for. So you’re suggesting that out of work pregnant women shouldn’t look for employment, or that women in general shouldn’t seek better opportunities while pregnant?

Life happens, of course you still look for work.
But there’s no older woman who has been in corporate America who will tell you that that is a good move. That’s why it’s called family planning.
Companies will look for any little reason to let someone go. So yea, you get a new job and 3-4mon later say you’re pregnant and need to go on leave soon, you might come back to some “changes” or petty things happening around the office.
And if you’re in a “right to work” state they can fire you for whatever reason.
So you minimize those situations by following general guidelines to protect yourself.
Like, staying on your Ps and Qs for a year. You don’t just get pregnant randomly.
