I was at a comedy show the other week and a teacher had a whole routine about kids being retarded.

No one was offended.

Folks generally into comedy aren't looking to be offended.

this is the issue tho.

the people who complain the most arent even into the shyt they are trying to correct.

in the past if you were not interested in something you'd just ignore it unless there was racial things at play like white moms war on rap.

in the past you had to actually organize to get your voice heard today you can do it easily through social media posts and it will spread which is the main issue.

This is trending on twitter. I’m not down with this ‘anti-woke’ shyt buuuuuuuut…we gotta admit stand up comedy and comedy movies and sitcoms are pretty much dead at this point. I can’t remember the last really laugh out loud funny movie or tv show I watched, maybe Dave? Even then those types of shows aren’t even that funny they are like “surrealist” comedies meant to skirt around typical outrage culture.

Even Curb has gotten boring.

A show like Married with Children would be problematic today with the jokes that Al would constantly use towards Marcy.

But Marcy always clapped back at Al.

You could also use it in the case of shows like All in the Family and others during that time because of the rhetoric they used and called it entertainment.

All in the Family made its point to show how Archie was ignorant and stupid in his views. But no way this show could be made today.

My issue with someone like Jerry and others is that they're constantly always bytching about how comedy used to be instead of acknowledging how problematic it was and accepting how the world works now.

The whole comedy needing to be PC really took off when the alphabet gang, especially trehs, starting getting offended and voicing their anger in online spaces. Funny thing is I'm 100% sure when the jokes weren't about them, but other groups, that they were kee kee'n and laughing their asses off.
