For the third time, everyone assumed he was racist anyway. The article could’ve strictly focused on his hiring practices. It could’ve focused on him telling players they better not take a knee. That is what the article focused on. The photo was just a hook to start the story with, to show the sort of background Jones came from and remind readers of the sort of historical injustice that is in the background when we're talking about the lack of Black coaches, but the entire article was about his NFL practices as an owner.
You're basing your impression of the article on a single photo someone tweeted rather than on the actual content of the article.

And the article is a one sided slant. They did not try to contact Skip Peete or Will McClay and the many other Black coaches that have worked for the Cowboys.
That picture being put out is all you need to know about what type of sham article and the purpose it was supposed to serve.
