Why the fukk would I care if Jay-Z says anything on this?

Stop looking to entertainers to be the leaders in the community.

It's only really spoken on in the context of this message board... We spend 95% of our time discussing athletes and entertainers on this forum...They are all at the core of our daily interractions on here..You can't deny it...

So it's not unreasonable when something happens thats socially significant ,for us to discuss how the people we spend the majority of time on here discussing fit in to the discussion..Whether its Kobe, LeBron, Nas, Jay or any of them...It makes sense in the context of THIS FORUM..

Now if you're just walking around on the weekend through the city streets asking "What is Morris Chessnut gonna say or do about police brutality!!??" then I think you'd have a point..

At the end of the day this is still a forum about Sports and Hip Hop... Not politics or education...

Because the fans let it happen. Remember, these dudes literally aren't shyt unless we choose to invest in their careers. All that money they flaunt in their music video comes from us. Why should they care about how they treat their fans, when they know those people will buy regardless? That's how they think.
I agree, and it's sad.

We don't know how much power we have. We helped put a dent in Black Friday's sales, if we really resolved to stop fukking with these rappers who don't care about us the labels who don't really care about them would drop them in a week.

What artists need is a wake up call so they can leave the social insulation they have and come back to reality, where people that look just like them are struggling. The more I think about it the more New Slaves was actually one of the most important songs of the 2010s...because artists just don't get it.

Jay don't stand up for shyt. To be considered the GOAT you have to have a backbone and have empathy for your people. Dude don't give a fukk about nikkas, we seen that when he still put his shyt in Barney's after they were proven to be a racist company.

And it's probably time to stop expecting Jay-Z to say anything. No matter how good of an MC he is his hands are tied. As a black man he's expendable in corporate America, and as soon as they feel a reason they can put together a plan to "make another Hov" just like they made him. Siding against them is diametrically opposed to his lifelong dream to make a billion with them.

Not apologizing for him, I think it's bullshyt, but it is what it is. It's about a)him being insulated from real life struggle since he was a kid and b) him not wanting to sacrifice any future business opportunities with controversy. He's from the "republicans buy sneakers too" school.

I mean I don't understand how the people who follow every move this man makes don't see it.

Jay-Z is a brand at this point so expecting him to even tweet is like expecting Wal-Mart or Coke to comment on these issues. Just the way it is, just who he is. Best you can hope for is a punchline in a song.

this right here. jay-z taking a stance either way will not benefit him in any way shape or form.
