The community is lost. so hopeless and devoid of leadership that we look to entertainers and celebrities to lead us and speak for us. Why would a kid watching this spectacle ever aspire to be a doctor or lawyer or regular business man? we don't value those types in the community.

How many of those lawyers and doctors are coming from low income housing ? people tend to admire those who came from the same walk as life as them and then reached back.

The vast majority of black "professionals" I've met are from poorer backgrounds.

Most middle class black folks are 1 generation away from the hood or came from there themselves. this is an idiotic post. I know black folks who have started schools and folks who own properties, businesses and invested in low income areas. Nobody cares about the work they do cause they are not celebrities.
