Jelani Gardner didn't get drafted either.

Gardner was widely considered to be a quality basketball prospect in the United States. He was considered to have a shot at stardom in the NBA by most pro scouts. But a blood test as part of a pre-NBA Draft physical examination in 1995 revealed that Gardner had kidney disease. Because of this condition, no NBA team was willing to draft him. He continued his college career and after it was over he was still not able to get any NBA contracts because of his kidney ailment.

Damn, but at least this dude had a legit reason. Taylor King is playing semipro ball in Quebec :damn:

how come most of the niccas hating on Lin on KNICKS fans....:umad:

They offered a scholarship along with 3 other schools. Lin didn't even have the option of being able to choose.

Your clearly riding with Lin because your not black your reaching if you think he makes a valid point. I posted the comments from his hs coach ! The guy said he gets why Lin didn't get the offers, he had alot of questions about his makeup

"Never did he believe he was coaching an NBA player when he had Lin in high school. ("No, no, no," he says.) And when no big-time program -- not even Stanford, the one across the street -- thought enough of Lin to offer him a scholarship, Diepenbrock really didn't have a problem with that.

"I wasn't sitting there saying all these Division I coaches were knuckleheads," Diepenbrock says. "There were legitimate questions about Jeremy."

Peter Diepenbrock never expected to be watching Jeremy Lin light up the Lakers.
Diepenbrock starts to say something else, then stops. "I already got in trouble with Jeremy for saying this, so I probably shouldn't," he says. Then, a few seconds later, he says, "Oh, what the hell. I'll say it anyway and get in trouble twice: Jeremy was not a good practice player."
But wait. Diepenbrock's not finished. After a year at Harvard, Lin returned to Palo Alto and asked his old coach, "Can you work me out?"

"Now?" Diepenbrock asked. "I was here every day for three years, and now you want me to work you out?"
Lin, ever the pragmatist, said, "Yes, because now I know I need it."

I don't have a horse in this race. Jeremy Lin is entitled to his opinion on what happened. If you watched the segment he's not even trippin off of it anymore, so why are you? Because Charlie Rose did a 60 minutes segment? Even Stern said he could see why an Asian basketball player out of Harvard can be looked at with skepticism. That is not a far fetched opinion to have. Even what his coach said is opinion.

This is a perfect example of why people complaining about racism annoys the fukk out of me. There are just too many variables to say "they didnt choose me because im Asian"...I mean, how can you say that?

and then complaining about people making fun of him because he's Asian. That shyt happens across the board. It only comes up when someone gets all sensitive.

What his coach said is opinion :merchant: really ?? He coached him I think he would know what kind of a player Jeremy Lin was seeing as how he was his coach .

The only ones that can truly answer that are the schools that declined to give him a scholarship. Lin's coach couldn't so that for him. He's saying he understands why they wouldn't, which is still an opinion

Who's Taylor King? Only dude on that list who didnt get drafted :wow:

I remember I went to this AAU tourney in Houston several years back because OJ Mayo (who was going into his senior year) was so hyped up. Best team I saw was this Cali squad, So Cal All Stars I think. Star of the team was supposed to be Taylor King with his sidekick being another white kid named Kevin Love. I wasn't impressed at all with King but I thought the Love kid looked pretty good. They also had Daniel Hackett on that squad and I want to say he played at USC. All that being said the best player on the team was some little point guard. Dude was faster than everyone on the court, was knocking down threes, dunking on boys, playing shutdown defense, just dominating. I looked him up the next day and it ended up being some freshman from Compton named Brandon Jennings.

That's my random Taylor King story.
