My brother is a white looking dominican and his ancestry results came back with 35% west African DNA. That mix of african/spaniard/native taino is what makes dominicans who we are as well for other countries like PR. But I will say the majority of a puerto ricans DNA is most likely spaniard , theres black ricans but the majority of that island is white looking
Not trying to give JLO a pass , but I hear puerto ricans use negrita as a term of endearment. I never heard a dominican use that but every hispanic country speaks Spanish a bit differently each with our own little tweaks.
I know for dominicans, we call any girl with a cardi b shade and darker morenita/morena (lil brown thing/brown girl). Negrita would translate as black skin so its confusing that she would use that word but i hear ricans saying they use it differently so idk
